Modern Slavery Statement (Tender Declaration)
Cinox Healthcare Ltd is committed to conducting its business ethically and with integrity and recognises its responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within its operations and supply chains. We support the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and are committed to safeguarding vulnerable individuals and ensuring fair and lawful employment practices.
Organisational Status
Cinox Healthcare Ltd is a small business operating within the health and social care sector. Based on our current staffing levels and financial turnover, the organisation does not meet the threshold of a “relevant commercial organisation” under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, which applies to organisations with an annual turnover of £36 million or more.
As such, Cinox Healthcare Ltd is not legally required to publish a formal Modern Slavery Statement under Section 54. However, for the purposes of this tender and to demonstrate our commitment to ethical practices, we provide the following statement outlining the measures we have in place to prevent modern slavery and labour exploitation.
Our Commitment
Cinox Healthcare Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, and exploitation. As a care provider supporting vulnerable individuals within the community, safeguarding and protection from abuse are fundamental values that underpin our organisational culture and operational practices.
We are committed to ensuring that:
- All employees are recruited through fair, transparent, and lawful recruitmentprocesses.
• Staff have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom and appropriate identity checks are completed prior to employment.
• Employees receive written employment contracts, fair pay in accordance with UK employment law, and safe working conditions.
• No worker is subjected to coercion, exploitation, or unfair employment practices.
Recruitment and Employment Practices
Cinox Healthcare Ltd operates robust safer recruitment procedures to ensure ethical employment practices. These include:
- Verification of identity and right-to-work documentation
• Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks where required
• Professional reference checks prior to employment
• Clear employment contracts outlining terms, pay, and working conditions
• Compliance with National Minimum Wage and Working Time Regulations
We do not charge recruitment fees to staff and do not engage in practices that could place employees in situations of financial or employment dependency.
Safeguarding and Staff Awareness
As a provider of regulated care services, safeguarding forms a core part of our operational framework. Staff receive training in safeguarding adults and recognising signs of abuse, exploitation, or coercion. This includes awareness of indicators that may suggest labour exploitation or human trafficking.
Any concerns relating to exploitation or safeguarding are reported through our internal safeguarding procedures and escalated to the relevant local authority where required.
Supply Chain Responsibility
Cinox Healthcare Ltd works with a limited number of suppliers and service partners. Where contractors or external providers are engaged, we expect them to operate within UK employment law and ethical standards.
Basic due diligence is undertaken to ensure suppliers and contractors operate responsibly and lawfully.
Whistleblowing and Reporting
Cinox Healthcare Ltd maintains a whistleblowing policy which enables staff to raise concerns confidentially regarding unethical behaviour, exploitation, or unsafe practices. Staff are encouraged to report concerns without fear of retaliation.
All concerns are taken seriously and investigated in accordance with organisational procedures.
Commitment to Continuous Improvement
Although Cinox Healthcare Ltd is not currently required to publish a Modern Slavery Statement under Section 54, we remain committed to maintaining ethical employment practices and preventing exploitation within our organisation.
As the organisation grows, we will continue to review our policies and governance arrangements to ensure alignment with legislative requirements and sector best practice.
